On receipt of instructions, a strategy has been devised to ensure the investigation is carried out in such a way as to maximise our resources and thus obtain for the Client, the most effective result.

The essence of our investigation is not only to gather information in the field, but to subject all initial instructions, statements and documentation, to rigorous analysis and verification, so as to present a final report to the client which comprehensively deals with all pertinent matters, and summarises our conclusions and recommendations to enable the claim to be effectively dealt with.

Acknowledgement of instructions can be sent to the client where requested and by whatever means specified, i.e. letter, email etc.

All relevant enquiries are placed in hand and the subject contacted within the client’s guidelines (not more than 24 hours). An introductory letter is sent to the subject in all cases. Where contact cannot be made on the telephone, a letter is sent requesting an appointment and the client is appraised accordingly.

We aim to interview the subject at the theft location and take a statement at the earliest possible date to enable us to submit our report to the client within our best practice policy.

We have our own theft proforma statement which is specially designed to obtain the maximum amount of useful information.

Various mandates are obtained as a matter of course to further assist in verifying the information supplied.

We always seek to contact the police, vendors, previous keepers, servicing garages, among others.

Wherever possible, enquiries are conducted prior to interview in order that any anomalies, or motive, can be appropriately addressed and explanations sought.

We also seek to interview material witnesses and explore local knowledge in efforts to substantiate the claim.
